Hi,
No,I do not see its scope decreasing in any form. With every business going digital the sector is booming as their is huge demand of programmers and CSE engineers. It offers some of the highest paying jobs.
Computer Science and Engineering comprises a variety of topic that includes algorithm, programming languages and relates to software and computer hardware.
Hope that helps
Hello Aspirant
Many of the CS Engineers (especially in India) have been doing very low-level work in the past - things like modifying user interface (look and feel), adding a few fields and buttons on a screen, or reading some logs to find out problems, etc. (these are just a few examples)
With Cloud and Cognitive computing, all that low level work will no longer be done by engineers. In fact, any user can modify the GUI, add new functionality by just dragging and dropping readymade components available in his development environment. Computers will be able to find out the problems themselves and also fix minor issues in code. Innovations like IBM’s BlueMix are so intuitive that a handful of people can develop and deploy a large scale application in very less time.
From customer perspective, there is a lot of pressure on IT companies to reduce cost and deliver faster.
My opinion is that all these things will lead to major changes in the Computer (software and hardware) Industry. Companies won’t recruit thousands of CS engineers in future (as they are doing it now).
I feel getting into other areas (mechanical, electronics, etc.) would be better keeping in mind the future.
Hope it helps you
Thank you:)
