Admission Alert: B.Tech @ Woxsen University
First things first, the English score and the score in the additional subject, do not play a part in securing one’s admission through TNEA as it solely focusses on the scores in Maths, physics and chemistry. So a proper cutoff is to be arrived at with those scores before a proper conclusion can be made on what colleges one might get with one’s scores. Secondly, since the OP has not divulged any information on his/her category, it is difficult to provide an accurate idea on what college they might get. Having said all of this, the general opinion is that most of the general catergory students struggle to get into “tier 1” colleges if their cutoffs dip below 190. There are no guarentees but a decent tier-2 or tier-3 college can be expected for cutoffs below 190
There are other avenues of entry for the candidate as well. For instance, if the candidate is an NRI, he/she can apply through the NRI quota for seats at Anna University(CEG, AC Tech, MIT and SAP). The candidate can also get into Anna University through the Industrial quota. The cutoffs are generally on the lower side for both NRI quota and the industrial quota
