In Institutes like IITs, NITs, and event in many colleges they have, Departments of Biological Science and Bioengineering(BSBE), Which offers BTech in BSBE and Biotechnology, and the admission criterion remains same. If you want to do Engineering in BSBE from any IIT then you need to qualify JEE Advance nothing to know about Biology at the time of admission, Your admission is based upon only three subjects PCM.

After joining Engineering college You can pursue Your interest in Biomedical Engineering. I know one of My senior who graduated from BSBE and currently pursuing Higher Education from Yale In Biology.
