Like you want to take admission in bcom or bba or bca programs then entrance exam which is lpunest is not mandatory but if you want to take admission in btech bca hons bba hons or bcom hons or any other hons program then yes lpunest is mandatory.

Scholarship Brackets:

For each category mentioned above, three brackets of Scholarship (Bracket 1, 2 and 3) are defined. Each bracket represents specific criteria (for example scores in qualifying exam) which an applicant has to reach for him/her to fall in that particular bracket. The criteria in each bracket decreases as it proceeds and so does the scholarships. So, the students meeting the requirement of Bracket- 1 gets the highest Scholarship and those in Bracket - 2 or 3 gets relatively lesser scholarship.

Lovely Professional University National Eligibility and Scholarship Test, also known as LPUNEST, is conducted by Lovely Professional University (LPU). LPU NEST, a university level examination, is held once every year to admit candidates for the various programmes available in the university.

For some programmes it is mandatory and for some programmes, it is not mandatory to get admission in the university.

For example, for B.tech. the entrance exam “LPUNEST” is mandatory to take admission. The eligibility criteria (Qualifying Exam) for B.Tech. is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.

But for BBA the entrance exam “LPUNEST” is not mandatory to take admission. The eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) for BBA is pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent. But students can apply LPUNEST for scholarship purpose.

So, it depends on the choice of your programme for which whether LPUNEST is mandatory or not.

LPUNEST acts as for both the Eligibility and Scholarship Test. If it is not mandatory for the programme then you can apply for scholarship purpose and it will provide you benefits for a fee.

No, you cannot join LPU without an Entrance exam. it is mandatory for Engineering Programmes to give the Entrance exam LPUNEST.

LPUNEST is an entrance test which is conducted by the University. Other than this some national level entrance test marks also acceptable like NATA for B.Arch, JEE for Engineering, CLAT and LSAT for LAW, MAT, CAT & CMAT for MBA and NEET for BSc Agriculure.

The cost of LPUNEST exam is Rs.500/- and the deadline for applying for the exam is up to April 25, 2019, those who are going to join for the upcoming batch.
