Sorry to inform but as per the recent norms, admission to all AYUSH courses which includes BAMS as well will take in admissions based on the merit list prepapred on the basis of the NEET marks.
Failing to qualify or appear for the exam directly removes any chances of securing a seat right in there.
In short, there's no alternative path to secure a seat in BAMS except NEET.

Yes, one not necesserly needs to give NEET examination in order to study BAMS.
There are many private colleges which will require you to take direct admission without clearing any entrance examination.
However, for government colleges you must clear NEET.
Top private BAMS colleges in INDIA:
BAMS Ayurvedic college, UP
State Ayurvedic college, lucknow
