It is not possible to get THE MBBS degree without passing NEET these days. NEET is the first step towards becoming a doctor. When you clear NEET with good score,  you get admissions into a College for pursuing a 5 years MBBS course. Only, then, you get eligibile to practice medicine in India. So, there's no way running away from NEET.

No, NEET is mandatory to pursue MBBS and to become doctor.You need to appear in NEET entrance exam an qualify in it with minimum cut off marks to get admission in any college.NEET is compulsory to study MBBS/BDS and other medicine allied course in India and in Abroad.
