Hi Aspirant,

The global carbon cycle refers to the exchanges of carbon within and between four major reservoirs: the atmosphere, the oceans, land, and fossil fuels.  The carbon cycle describes the process in which carbon atoms  travel from the atmosphere to the Earth and then back into the atmosphere. Since our planet and its atmosphere form a closed environment, the amount of carbon in this system does not change,it remains constant.

Hope it helps!!
