Hi there!
Acid rain is any form of precipitation with acidic components. Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids. Acid rain has adverse impacts on forests, freshwaters, and soils, killing insect and aquatic life-forms, causing paint to peel, corrosion of steel structures such as bridges, and weathering of stone buildings and statues. Many bacteria and blue green algae are killed due to acidification, disrupting the whole ecological balance.
Acid contaminates with potable water and enter man’s body. The heavy metals released by acid rain may cause potential threat to human health.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!
