Ecofeminism, also called ecological feminism, is a social movement bringing together feminism and environmentalism. It focuses on the connections between the oppression of women and the domination of nature that is it addresses the parallels between the oppression of nature and the oppression of women. The name was coined by French feminist writer Françoise d’Eaubonne in 1974.
The Chipko Andolan movement in India, the Green Belt Movement in Kenya are some examples of Ecofeminism
