Hello laiba
Cell division is the process by which parent cell divides into two or more daughter cells.
Prokaryotes such as bacteria undergo a vegetative cell division known as binary fission. Binary fission , asexual reproduction by a seperation of the body into two new bodies , an organism duplicates its genetic material , or DNA , and then divides into two parts (cytokinesis) with each new organism receiving one copy of DNA.
In eukaryotes, there are two distinct types of cell division : a vegetative division whereby each daughter cell is genetically identical to the parent cell called MITOSIS and a reproductive cell division , whereby the number of chromosomes in the daughter cells is reduced by half to produce haploid gametes called MEOSIS.
hello laiba
Cell division is the process by which a cell, called the parent cell, divides into two cells, called daughter cells. When the cell divides, everything inside it divides also. The nucleus and the chromosomes divide, and the mitochondria divide also. There are two types of cell division: mitosis and meiosis. Most of the time when people refer to “cell division,” they mean mitosis, the process of making new body cells. Meiosis is a type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cell by half and produces four gamete cells. This process is required to produce egg and sperm cells for sexual reproduction. Cellular division has three main functions:
(1) the reproduction of an entire unicellular organism,
(2) the growth and repair of tissues in multicellular animals, and
(3) the formation of gametes (eggs and sperm) for sexual reproduction in multicellular animals.
hope this helps
all the best
