Wt is cbcs in delhi university and how can i select general elective subject in du ?
Cbcs is choice based credit system where students have the option to choose from prescribed course which are core, elective and soft skills. They are graded on their performance using the credit system. The credit system works like each course is assigned credit Core papers are given 6 points and additional papers are given 4
and when you pass it you earn credit. If you pass a single course in a semester you dont have to repeat the course later which means you can earn the credit acvording to your pace. You also have the option to study fewer course and earn fewer credits one semester and in the other semester you can compensate it.
Generic Elective are interdisciplinary papers other than your core papers which you can change and choose every semester. you can even continue it to the next semester. In total you will have to opt 4 papers in 4 semesters. (Ist and IInd yr). There are various GEC offered by different colleges and different course at DU. You'll will be given the choices by your respective college, you can check your options on your college website.
