The answer will be 47 .
As x+1/x= 3
Squaring both sides ;
x²+1/x² + 2.x.(1/x)= 9
x²+1/x²=9-2=7
Now again squaring it we get;
x+1/x+2.x².(1/x²)=49
x+1/x= 49-2 = 47.
So the required answer is 47 .
