The cut off marks specified by at college is the minimum marks which a candidate must obtain.Also it is beneficial if you score more than the cut off marks.Because it will help you with good amount of chances to secure a seat in a particular college.

Dear Anjali, cut off is the least or minimal marks that scored a seat in a college. So for example when we mention 469 marks has been the cut off for General Category in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Medical College under State Quota, we mean to saybthat 469 marks were the minimum marks that secured a seat in this college under General Category.
