Hello Aspirant,

KCET is a state-level exam, managed by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). It is an offline exam, held for admission to Engineering, AYUSH, Farm Science, B.Pharm courses. This year, KCET 2019 is scheduled for April 23 ( Biology/Mathematics ), 24 ( Physics/Chemistry ) & 25 ( Kannada Language ) .

Eligibility criteria for KCET 2019:

KCET eligibility criteria vary course-wise. The basic eligibility for admission to various courses is mentioned below.

For Engineering courses:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to qualify the 2nd PUC/10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Subject: Candidates must pass their examination with Mathematics & Physics as a main subject & English as a language subject.
  • Minimum Marks: It is compulsory to score at least 45% marks (40% marks in SC/ST category) in physics and mathematics along with one of the subjects, i.e. Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Chemistry/Computer science.

The Number of questions asked might not be exactly same. On an average, these are the number of questions asked from the respective topics.

Paper Pattern:

The Common Entrance Test will be held on TWO days in FOUR different sessions for four subjects. On the first day, test will be conducted for Biology and Mathematics subjects in two sessions and on the next day test will be conducted for Physics and Chemistry subjects in two sessions as per the date and time notified. Each paper / subject will be conducted for 60 marks each with a duration of 80 minutes. Each question paper will be of Multiple Choice Questions (Objective) type. The question paper in each subject will have different versions and each question will have four different options. Each question will carry ONE mark. The candidate is expected to attempt all the questions, in order to obtain maximum marks. In other words, there is no choice of questions. THERE WILL BE NO NEGATIVE EVALUATION WITH REGARD TO WRONG / INCORRECT ANSWERS BUT MARKS WILL NOT BE AWARDED IN RESPECT OF MULTIPLE ANSWERS for the same question.
