All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rajkot was established in 2019 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. AIIMS Rajkot is recognised as an "Institute of National Importance". 

Courses at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rajkot include MBBS, MD and MS programmes. Candidates seeking admission to AIIMS Rajkot MBBS programme need to appear for NEET UG entrance examination, while admission to MD and MS programmes is based on the INI CET examination.
