Bengaluru City University is state university situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka which was established in 2017. With a 43-acre area coverage, the BCU delivers 801 courses in 37 programmes with degree programmes. According to the enrolment at the university, there are 3,985 students, among whom 65% are males while 35% are female students. BCU is privileged with a faculty strength of 147 members. The university is fully accredited by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) and is characterised by predominantly offering specialisation in arts, commerce, science as well as management discipline.

These include full time, part time and regular programmes at bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. BCU has a wide range of curricular and programme that are available to students from arts, commerce, science and the management faculties. The overall admission figure for various courses is 1,154 and it has adequate student strength, which any university would require to preserve faculty-student ratio. In the last academic year reviewed for this paper, BCU experienced increased learners’ completion rates thus, expansion of the university’s alumni database.

Admissions at Bengaluru City University are competitive and holistic to ensure student’s quality before offering admission to him/her. Admission in most of the under graduate programmes are strictly merit based by the qualifying examination up to 10+2 or along this line. Sometimes, postgraduate admissions can involve the candidates to write exams, depending on the course they wish to do. BCU recognises scores of the national as well as state level management entrance test such as CAT, GMAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, CMAT & NMAT & Gujarat PGCET & Entrance Exam of Pearl Academy &Karnataka PGCET etc.
