Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Bhagalpur, was founded on August 5, 2010. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised the university. The college accepts students for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes. BAU Bhagalpur courses include B.Sc, B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., and Ph.D. which are offered with specialisations. Bihar Agricultural University admission into these courses is given based on the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam scores acquired by the students.
The university has established partnerships with several reputable national and international institutions. It has close ties to several ICAR institutes, such as the Central Plantation Crop Research Institute, the Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, the National Dairy Research Institute, the India Institute of Farming System Research, and the Directorate of Maize Research. The institute offers many facilities for a hassle-free campus life. The university comprises six constituent colleges: Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, Bhagalpur; Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnea; Mandan Bharti Agricultural College, Saharsa; VKS College of Agriculture, Demuraon; Dr Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj; and Nalanda College of Horticulture, Noorsarai. Of these, six are agriculture colleges and one is horticulture.

College infrastructure is very nice because in past few year college has invested lot in their infrastructure. Hostel facilities provided by it is very nice because all those hostel are new. All facilities such as canteen, library, hostel, wifi ,etc are available.
