The Central University of Gujarat was established in 2007 by the Parliament of India through the Central Universities Act (2009). The Central University of Gujarat is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Central University of Gujarat is commonly known as CUG and accredited by NAAC with a grade of ‘B++’.
The Central University of Gujarat houses 11 schools namely the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS), School of Applied Material Sciences (SAMS), School of Education, School of Environment and Sustainable Development (SESD), School of International Studies (SIS), School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies (SLL&CS), School of Library and Information Sciences (SLS), School of Life Sciences (SLS), School of Nano Sciences (SNS), School of National Security Studies (SNSS) and School of Social Sciences (SSS). The Central University of Gujarat offers BA Hons, M.Ed, MA, M.Lib..Sc, and many other courses are offered.

The admissions to Central University of Gujarat is based on the scores of CUET entrance exam. As per the official website of the Central University of Gujarat, the motto of the university is to provide a global platform for knowledge and employability to CUG students along with society and industry interface. The Central University of Gujarat was ranked overall 60th in India and 2nd among all the universities in Gujarat in NIRF 2016 Rankings. According to NIRF 2017 Rankings, the university ranked among the top 150 universities in the country. The university has two independent centres. There are nineteen centres within these 11 schools covering multidisciplinary subjects. The Central University of Gujarat is functioning from temporary premises at present in sectors 29 and 30 of Gandhinagar, the university has been allocated 100 acres of land near Vadodara by the Government of Gujarat.

Students at the Central University of Gujarat can apply for scholarships offered by UGC, AICTE, GOI etc. Centre for Chinese Studies students are awarded scholarships to pursue higher studies in China by MHRD, Government of India and Scholarship Council, China. Students aspiring for Central University of Gujarat scholarships are required to meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to check the eligibility requirements and apply for Central University of Gujarat scholarships. M.Phil and Ph.D. students of CUG can apply for UGC-Non-NET Fellowship. To avail this scholarship, students should not avail any financial support from any other source. The university also has an Earn While You Lean scheme for deserving undergraduate and postgraduate students who do not receive fellowships. As a part of this scheme, candidates are assigned duties in the University Cyber Library after classroom hours.

Students are offered Central University of Gujarat admissions at UG, PG and doctoral levels. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level programmes are offered for admission at the Central University of Gujarat. Students aspiring for the Central University of Gujarat UG and PG admissions have to sit for Central Universities Common Entrance Test commonly known as CUET.
The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) is an All India Test organised to offer Central University of Gujarat admission to various programmes of 14 Central Universities and 4 State Universities. It is a university-level exam conducted once a year. After the declaration of the CUCET result, the Central University of Gujarat shall conduct counselling for the students who have applied for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the university. To get Central University of Gujarat admissions, candidates must have to follow the selection criteria. The selected candidates can secure their admission to the UG and PG programmes by paying the programme’s fee through online mode. their choice according to the merit list.

College environment and infrastructure is good. College has a very good facilities and everything which we need it will be provided in this college. Students have some freedom after the college hour . We can go outside any time after the college hours.
Infrastructure of this college is good. Class room is well maintain. There are many hostel present in college campus but boys hostel is allotted only 1 year or 1st year student and in girls hostel allotted full graduation year. In hostel Wi-Fi is available all time with high-speed
