Cotton University organised an awareness walk for International Disability Day on December 3, 2024.
Cotton University is one of the most prestigious University of the state. It has many department's and the faculties are well experienced. The Physics department in the University has all the necessary amenities such as smart classrooms, all the required laboratories for graduate and post graduate level experiments, a well updated library, Wi-Fi, etc. The only downside of the University is that it doesn't have it's own sports center and sports field.
I studied B.Sc. Physics in the University. The quality of teaching I have to say is one of the best in the state. The faculties are all well experienced and most of them have PhD degrees from the best Universities of India, some professors even completed their PhD from foreign universities. The professors are very helpful and all of them have a unique way of teaching.
Since it is a college for BA, BSc graduate degrees, the majority of the student's opt for more higher education's like MSc, MA and PhD's, so there is no placement for jobs, but there is opportunity for higher studies in the University itself.
Since it is a government college, the fees of the regular courses in the college is lower than 10,000 rupees a year. So, with respect to the quality of education provided in the university, I think every student must feel that there money is worth it.
Campus in this college is an open campus. The life inside the campus is pretty good as compared to other college's. The only problem is the department's are a little scattered here and there, so you might find traffic going from one department to other since the college in situated by a main road.
My experience has been quite pleasant here. The professors of my department are very kind, friendly and helpful. Learnt a lot here.
The college has good infrastructure facility which includes smart boards, labs, wifi ,sports hall and it also has gym in the campus. The wifi have a very good speed and it also has hostel facility for both boys and girls.
The course is well updated and practical in knowledge and it covers all the necessary details of the curriculam .The curriculam has different fields of study and it provides all the basic information .
The placement is not good for BA students and hardly any company come for placeement. The arts students mainly goes for upsc preparation or try for teaching. If i say in percentage term then it has 10% placement in total of 100%.
The college has every needful infrastructure and equipments which have to be there in an university. The class equipped with smart boards and it has different labs for different departments.University is well functioned with the wifi.
The curriculam is fully updated with the real world and it provide all the important developments which take place in the education field. The quality of teaching is very good and professors are well educated.
The placements are good in cotton university and 60% of students are placed in good companies and their pay scale is also decent. The highest as of now which i can remember is 12 lpa which is very good as compare to the fees.
Our college contains all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment that are required for purpose. All the basic core facilities are available that is needed for schedule, food are also found to be hygiene based
Bachelor of Science(Zoology),quality of teaching is satisfactory curriculum is updated on regular basis and akso include the recent developments in the field.Study curriculum is up to date and is ready for job.
Good placements persists in our college,About good number of participants who participates get placed in our college placement process, placement package varies time to time, easy to moderate type of placement process.
The infrastructure is good and the living spaces are well maintained. They provide all the necessary facilities like library, auditorium, laboratories etc. It is a old college so the seating and infra is a bit old.
Academics is overall quite decent and the faculty mentors are also very nice and welcoming. The quality of teaching is also good providing that the professors are well experienced individuals and they make you updated on recent industry trends.
Placements at Cotton University are average and most of the roles offered are in some manufacturing plants and the average CTC is 4-5 LPA and highest package was 9 LPA. The placement process is smoothly carried by the Placement Cell.
The college is an open campus type. Includes the main building and the hostels. The classrooms are well equipped with blackboards, whiteboards, furnished with benches and have seminar rooms for special lectures. Every respective department contain required labs. The college has their own auditorium which is very large.
The college is good in academics overall. I have found my classmates so brilliant and so you can think how they select students for their classrooms. The syllabus is according to the UGC guidelines and syllabus. You will learn a standard syllabus that is followed in India.
I don't know anything about the placements of our college. I have never studied such subjects in which placement facility is there. But some of the subjects may have some placement facility but never heard of it.
The college fees is so low. You have to give a very little money for the admission and in return you get a very good knowledge in this college. So I would say, it's a totally value for money. The fees is so affordable.
There is no campus but the college hostel facilities are there. The hostel infrastructure is not so good, but the hostel life is so good and I have made so many friends and the seniors are so helpful. Got so many things to learn from them.
Hapyy with the infrastructure as it has approx 5-6 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel to accommodate the students. Every corner has good wifi connectivity and the labs are maintained properly. The hostels are good enough for the amount they charge. It has seperate library, center for recreational activities, fields etc.
10/10 for the academics as some of the faculties have very high education qualifications and come from good backgrounds with great knowledge. Students aiming to go for research can take great help from the staff as they not only guide you throughout but also help you get in touch with the domain specific specialists as well.
For general line students like B.Sc, BA etc, the placements are not considered as worthy due to lack of professional experience but yes with the brand name, they can get into other prestigious universities for their masters.
100% worth the money as I barely pay 5000 per month for my course, which is 5 times more outside. I am very happy with the facilities offered wrt to the money charged.
We have two big events every year called Cotton Fest and Abege, which a social attraction for many and people specially come here from different backgrounds to participate and showcase their talents.
Good college infrastructure with beautiful and huge outdoor space along with proper library, canteens and well equipped classrooms. Living spaces are maintained properly and the food is absolutely hygienic and well prepared.
Faculties are supportive and engaging and also the college offers wide range of courses in all the fields like science, humanities, commerce etc. Since it is one of the oldest colleges in Assam, it stands strong as an epitome of good service and quality education.
Average to decent placements but students mostly go for higher education as it offers great networks for research and masters. Since, it is a completely government funded institution, it has a good brand name when it comes to placements.
100% worth the money spent as it is in the heart of the city, has access to many other colleges, offers good courses with minimal fee.
Amazing college life as this college not only focuses on academics but also on overall holistic development of a student, ranging from academic excellence to social proficiency. General election rallies, inter college national level fests etc are the biggest attractions.
Cotton University is one of the renowned college of Assam . Its is clean and green campus. It has a library and multiple auditorim for the students for the various programmes for both cultural and any technical events .
I have completed my masters in zoology in the year 2022. It was a great experience and really thankful to all the teachers of the college.I feel really proud to be a student of the college. The teaching quality is really great.
The training and placement cell offers interns and reasearch under the professors .But there is no placement of the students and the companies donot approaches to the college for the recruitment of the students.
Cotton University has all the essential infrastructure and facilities. During my time, the college has only normal boards but it is improved and it has projectors. It also includes sports complex and library. The hostels are hygenic and well maintained.
The quality of placement is awesome. The professors are helpful and highly qualified. The curriculum of the college includes all the updated and recent developments.College also took field visits for the development of students.
The quality of placements is poor.It has a placement cell but most of the students went for higher studies. The college offers internships for the students and also offer reasearch internships under the professors guidance
