Davangere University is a state Davangere University which was established in 2009 and is among the youngest types of Davangere University in Karnataka. The Davangere University was set up with a purpose and vision to meet the educational aspirations of the people in the region. Both UG and PG courses are provided in the Davangere University for interested candidates. AICTE and UGC recognize the Davangere University, and it is spread over 73 acres of land space. Around 55 colleges are affiliated to the Davangere University.

The Davangere University is equipped with the latest infrastructural facilities to cater to the academic learning of students. The classrooms are well-furnished, and equipped with WIFI connection. The facilities offered include a hostel, library, sports, health care, and much more. Admissions to various courses offered in the Davangere University are done on the basis of a candidate's merit or through an entrance exam. However, the Davangere University offers most admission through the Davangere University entrance exams and merit of previous course degrees. The Davangere University provides scholarships to students belonging in certain categories or through merit. 

Students can also avail scholarships outside the Davangere University from the state and central government. They can apply for scholarships in their respective state also. A training and placement cell has been set up in the Davangere University to impart quality professional training and placement activities to students. The cell is dedicated to providing support, and assistance to students who wish to pursue a career in various fields. Career counselling and expert speakers on careers are also made available to provide career guidance and enable students to choose the right career path for themselves. Skill development programs have also been conducted to improve, enhance, or develop the professional skills of students. Over the years, several companies and organizations have conducted recruitment at the Davangere University. However, the percentage for the rate of recruitment is unavailable at the moment.
