72 MonthsPh.D. program in Media Studies shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jaipur.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only those candidates who have secured 55% marks in the post-graduate examination (any subject) will be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program. Students appearing in the P.G. Final Exam of Session 2020-21 may also apply for Ph.D. entrance.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the university from time to time.
- Candidates with M.Phil/ NET/JRF/SLET/CSIR/Teaching Fellowships will not be granted any exemption from the entrance examination.
- Any teacher working permanently, who has completed three years of continuous service in either a University department or an affiliated college on a fixed remuneration as per UGC norms, will also not be granted any exemption from the entrance examination.
Admission Details
- Admissions to Ph.D. courses will be granted on the basis of an entrance test (HJUPAT).
- Candidates with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in HJU-PAT will be eligible for admission to Ph.D. Program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 50% to 45% will be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/BC/MBC/Differentially Abled.
- Candidates clearing the entrance test (HJUPAT) will be interviewed and a merit list will be prepared considering the total marks obtained in both, the entrance exam as well as the interview. Admissions to Ph.D. courses will be granted on the basis of this merit list. Admissions can be granted only for the vacant seats in the University departments.
