IIIT Trichy: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli, which was founded in 2013, does not provide scholarships on behalf of the IIIT Trichy to its students. However, students can apply for various state and central government scholarships to get academic support. There are separate scholarships for students belonging to SC/ST or economically weak sections from the state as well as central government. Apart from this, IIIT Trichy scholarships are also offered based on merit, or academic performance through merit cum means scholarship by the state or central government to outstanding performers.

IIIT Trichy Scholarships were introduced to provide aid and financial support to students who are economically weak but have the potential to achieve big in academic studies. When it comes to engineering and technology studies, scholarships play a crucial role for many students since the fees are high. Therefore, various scholarships are provided by the central and state government to support students who wish to learn and grow. The list of some of the State and Central Government scholarships that students can avail of are given below.

·       Post-Matric minority scholarship schemes given by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

·       Merit-cum-means scholarships by state and central government.

·       Top Class Education Scheme for SC students provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

·       National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students provided by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

·       Central sector scheme of scholarships for college and university students, by the Department of Higher Education.

·       Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships from various states which students can apply to their respective states.

·       Pragati Scholarship Scheme for girl students (Technical Degree) by AICTE.

·       Ishan Uday special scholarship scheme for the northeast region by MHRD.

Students, before applying for the scholarships, must pay attention to the eligibility criteria required by the provider. For SC/ST category scholarships, student’s family income must not exceed Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum, and in the case of merit-based scholarships, a certain score of GPA or percentage will be required to ensure that the student is deserving of the scholarship which is based on academic performance. The scholarships are not given to all individuals who apply, but to all those who submit the needed documents and meet the eligibility criteria set by the provider.

Students can also avail of educational loans from certain banks with low interest or no interest in academic studies if needed. Even though the institute doesn’t offer scholarships to students, they will assist students in applying for scholarships and student education loans.
