12 MonthsPost Graduation Diploma in Urdu Journalism is a one-year full-time postgraduate diploma course offered by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
The foundation of Urdu journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication was laid with the introduction of the diploma course in 2013. After initial successful experiments, it was converted into a Postgraduate Diploma course in the year 2017. Like other diploma courses, this is also a one-year course. The main objective of the course is to train media professionals who can work according to the changing needs of technology-driven Urdu media. Some eminent journalists working in Urdu media are invited for guest lectures to create practical understanding of the Urdu media industry. Students prepare laboratory journals for practical training. The current intake number in Urdu journalism is 30, and the course is offered only at the New Delhi campus.
Indian nationals possessing a bachelor's degree awarded by a recognized university are eligible to apply. Students who have appeared/are appearing for the final year/semester examination of their Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply.
The selection of candidates (other than the NRI quota) will be solely based on their performance in the CUET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
