Best if luck :)

The best you can do at the moment is start refering to past year question papers. Start solving them like you are taking a regular exam. Thereafter do a proper post analysis of the exam, this will help you in understanding your week points. Also make sure that you are maintaining a separate notes of these concepts that you are learning during the post analysis of the test. Do this for 7 weeks. The 8th week you can keep for just revising these concepts, you will be great to go.

Hello Benny!
NO.

If you wish to aaply through SCB channel (iiser aptitude test) you can also apply the next year of givibg boards.

For example, if you want appear for IAT 2019, you can be a student who has passed his/her 12th board exams in 2018 or 2019.
But nothing earlier than that.
IISER states the eligibility criteria for  SCB channel on their official website:
Students who have passed 10+2 level with science stream in 2018 or 2019 are eligible to apply for admissions and appear for IAT 2019.
However, they will be considered for admissions to the degree programmes only if they obtain the cut-off marks specified for their board.
Hope this helps :)
Thank you!

Dear Aspirant, please tell me from which category you are? If you are from general category then you can't apply or you have to wait if any consideration happens or not.

Hi,

It is not necessary, you can apply for IISER in low percentage even. But to get selection, you have to get 90% in boards because IISERS cut offs are pretty high.

Hello Pooja,

I would like to mention the eligibility criteria for IISER below taken from the official website:

Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent level exam with science stream in 2018 or 2019 are eligible to apply for admissions. Candidates will be admitted to IISER only through following three channels.

  • Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
  • Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
  • State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)

These channels will be referred to as KVPY, JEE, and SCB, respectively.

Indian nationals and students belonging to PIO or OCI category are eligible to apply provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria described below.

KVPY Channel

  • Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2019-20 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable. Please see the cut-off criteria here.

JEE-Advanced Channel

  • Candidates in General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2019 are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to the reserved category (OBC-NC, SC, ST, PD), their category rank should be within 10000. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable. Please see the cut-off criteria here.

  • However, they will be considered for admissions to the degree programmes only if they obtain the cut-off marks specified

For more info on the cutoff , please visit the website below.

Hope this helps!

Hello Pooja,

If you are joining through state and central board (PCB) stream, You need to be in the top 1% of your respective board. So the cutoff percentage varies accordingly. You can check the cutoff score at the website. Cbse board is usually around 95%.

After you have cleared the cutoff score you need to give an aptitude test and qualify that too.

For admission to engineering programmes through JEE advanced channel, candidates who have secured 75% marks (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL) or 65% marks (SC/ST/PWD) in their Class XII (or equivalent) exams are also eligible for IISER test.

Good luck!

Hey Raj,

For masters, there are two programs in IISER, One is Integrated BS-MS and the second is Integrated Ph.D.

1. To get Admission in the Integrated BS-MS program, you have to have passed 12th with science stream having any one subject or both Mathematics and Biology. A five-year program without any exit option with a Bachelor's degree. you get either Masters or Nothing.

2. For Int PhD (Int. MS-Ph.D), You have to have had a Bachelor's degree in Science and related areas with a minimum of 60% or equivalent, and then only you can apply for it, there is an exit option, if you wish, after the MS. Selection is made by a written aptitude test followed by an Interview.
