Hello Ratan,
There's not really specific tye to it a large variety of students get into IISER and it doesn't have much to do with being jolly or happy type of a person.
There are the ones who were highly passionate about science and always wanted to go to IISc/IISER
There are the ones who were unsure about their career paths, and choose IISER because it’s an Indian Institute
There are the ones who wanted to go into engineering/medicine but didn’t get their desired college, so joined an IISER instead
And there are a few who had joined an engineering/medical/science college but didn’t like it there and came to IISER
You can clearly see that there’s a lot of diversity. There’s athletes, musicians, FIDE ranked chess players, gamers, quizzes, actors and people who are trying to find their way.
It’s a nice mixed bag really.
Hope this helps.

Hello Prajwal,
It would be difficult to tell you the exact admission possibilities as cutoff varies every year depending on the various factors such as difficulty level of the exam, No. Of candidates appeared for the exam, performance of the candidates etc.
However you can check the previous year cutoff with the given below link if you want to take an idea about IITs admission possibilities.

Good Luck!
the career opportunities for IISER graduates are more or less attuned to research.
The annual placements at IISER attract recruiters from reputed companies such as Ranbaxy, Unilever, GE Healthcare, Dr. Reddy’s, Shell, L’Oreal, Glenmark.
The IISER graduates can take up a teaching job in any school/University after qualifying the requisite exams like UPSC, B. Ed, NET
After BS-MS, a person can work as a legal advisor or administrator in biotech companies or Universities. Doing an MBA or Masters in Law will help the cause.
Since these institutions are new, hence the awareness is less but the opportunities are ample.
Good luck
