Professionals work to improve manufacturing methods through preservation, storage, and new product development. They work with food scientists to enhance the nutritional value of foods. Food science draws from many disciplines such as biology, chemical engineering, and biochemistry in an attempt to better understand food processes and ultimately improve food products for the general public. As the stewards of the field, food scientists study the physical, microbiological, and chemical makeup of food. Food technology is not only a branch of engineering but also the branch of food science, hotel management, and home science.
A candidate must have passed with the 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in Graduation from any area of Life Sciences or Home Sciences from any recognized university.
Admission on the basis of merit and/or Invertis University Entrance Test.
