Process automation (PA), represented as business automation or digital transformation is the technology-enabled automation of complex business processes. It is used to streamline businesses for simplicity, increase quality of service, improve service delivery or contain penalties and costs. It consists of process analysis, re-design, integrating applications, restructuring labor resources and using software applications throughout the organization.
Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) refers to the application of Artificial Intelligence and related new technologies, including Computer Vision, Cognitive Automation and Machine Learning to Process Automation. The new technology can empower systems to not only mimic but to think, learn, and improve on the automation front. The technology requires knowledge of programming, functionality of sensors, actuators and few other concepts.
