M.B.A. in Actuarial Science is a flagship programmme of its kind and will train students to use modern Mathematical, Statistical, Computational Techniques including the latest software to model and solve real world Actuarial, Financial and Industrial problems. This programme will provide exposure to those individuals who is to be powerful and sophisticated Mathematical and Statistical Techniques. In addition, more elementary methods that are currently used in Industrial and Actuarial problems. Students will have broad training, in acquiring knowledge not only in traditional Mathematics and Statistics subjects but also in practical areas of direct relevance to industry, such as – Insurance, Business, Economics and Computing. This is an interdisciplinary program which uses the resources of several departments of the University, Insurance and Financial Institutions. This program develops analytical and problem-solving skills built upon a background of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics and Business. It also emphasizes written and oral skills along with teamwork. These skills are valued highly in industry but are not part of most of the conventional Mathematics/ Statistics programmes. This programme provides a practical education that is relevant in today’s society and will help build strong links between the University and Industry, besides it will build links between various departments within the University.
