Khangchendzonga State University, Sikkim: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Khangchendzonga State University was established in 2017, will prove to be a potent university for mountainous state of Sikkim. This state university is situated in the beautiful city of Gangtok and it aims at imparting good quality education to the students in or around the region. The university sit at the Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College and Tadong, this makes it easier for students to gain access from different parts of Sikkim. Since it is a co-educational institution, all student from all background are accepted, this makes it a melting point of all students.

Khangchendzonga State University boasts of having all the amenities that would help make the students feel more comfortable. Its library is an informative source that can help students find a great amount of important materials. To encourage practical learning the university has set up departmental Laboratories in order to enable students to practice on real apparatus in their fields of specialisation. Appreciating the significance of Information Technology in learning, KGU has created an appropriate IT facility so that students remain connected and get the benefit of technological advancement. Further, the university supports student’s balanced and healthy lifestyle by offering places for sports activities, as well as offering different opportunities for spiritual and physical development.

KSU currently has five post graduate programmes, which are all day programmes The Five courses available at Khangchendzonga State University include:- These courses are for students who wish to study languages and cultures, this is in view of the multilingual nature of the region. The college offers MA programmes in Nepali, Limboo, Sanskrit, Lepcha and Bhutia. Currently, the university has a total student intake of 120 across all its student courses which affords individual attention to the courses offered by the faculty. The university has 13 faculty members who still afford the institution a good student/teacher ratio that is essential for training students.

It is noteworthy that KHX has smooth admission procedures under which it intends to accept prospective students. Due to its policy of accommodating regional languages and cultures of the nations, the university offers an excellent opportunity for learners who are interested in those areas. It is a state university that is accountable to the Uganda’s University Grants Commission whereby all its programmes are made to adhere to the educational standards of any GIVEN state.
