24 MonthsMaster of Arts (M.A.) in Politics and Human Rights is a full-time two-year postgraduate course offered by the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
Human Rights (H.R) has been an established subject and critical domain of politics and international relations (IR) for more than half a century. The concepts and concerns of HR have, however, been expanding during the last three hundred years incorporating a wide range of subjects and rights, which transcend political, ideological and cultural differences/peculiarities of the countries as well as the peoples across the world. The post war international system has further witnessed the emergence of the world HR culture with liberty, emancipation, education and universalism as integral components of that culture.
A candidate must have passed the BA in Economics/ Politics/ History/ Law with not less than 45% marks for Part III or B A in English/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Psychology/ Geography/ Philosophy/ Commerce with 50% in Part III or B Sc in any branch with not less than 60% marks in Part III.
Admission will be on the basis of a Rank List Prepared as per the score obtained in the following categories.
