About Kerala University

One of the first 16 institutions in India, the University of Kerala was founded in 1937 and was formerly known as the University of Travancore. The Maharajah of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama, who also served as the institution's first chancellor, officially established Kerala University.

The University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram is connected with 167 colleges and accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade. The university was established with the objective to develop researchers and innovators as well as to serve the needs of businesses and policymakers. All of our classrooms have the smart boards , Laboratories are well equiped and we have a separate large library buildings for every departments and also there is a separate library for all. Living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic.
