Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Patna, was established on April 10, 1998, under the Bihar State Universities Act, 1976, Ministry of Education. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Since December 2009, the university has been an official member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
