National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship And Management Sonepat was established in 2012 and is recognised as an "Institute of National Importance". NIFTEM Sonepat has been recognised by the Indian government's Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MoFPI), MHRD and AICTE.
NIFTEM Sonipat offers courses including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and Ph.D. Students seeking admission to NIFTEM Sonepat UG programmes should qualify JEE Main and for PG admissions GATE/CAT/MAT/CMAT based on the course they are opting for. NIFTEM Sonepat also offers scholarships to students. The placement cell at NIFTEM Sonepat looks after the placements of the students. Scholarships play an important role in helping the socially and economically backward classes of the society financially and on a societal level by uplifting the community. The state and national government of India offer many scholarships to the SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD category students who can prove their eligibility and avail of the scholarship amount.
There are many scholarships which are awarded to the students like Post Matric Scholarships, Merit cum Means Scholarship, Scholarships to SC/ST/PwD students pursuing Higher Education, Top Class Education Scholarship, Technical Education Scholarships and Scholarships awarded to a single girl child, etc. Applicants must submit a scholarship form through the national scholarship portal and use fee concessions for their education.
NIFTEM Merit Scholarship: The scholarship offered by NIFTEM will be available to the first 3 students on a merit basis in B. Tech. and one student on merit in each of the programs of M. Tech. Merit Scholarship would be paid during the period of the second semester. Thereafter, toppers of the first year will be awarded a scholarship for the next year and subsequent years accordingly. And it is available only to the toppers of each year. It includes a tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly stipend for ten months.
NIFTEM Merit cum Means Scholarship: Institute merit-cum-means scholarship is awarded to M. Tech. students of the institute strictly on merit-cum-means basis for needy students having annual family income from all sources not exceeding Rs. 2,50,000/-. 5% of students will be considered for award of scholarship, i.e., six students in M. Tech. (one each in all the five streams). It includes a tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly stipend for ten months.

Yes, the candidates are required to send the completed "Application Form" along with the additional documents that support their application. If the payment is made through a DD it must be drawn in favor of ‘NIFTEM’ at Kundli, District Sonepat, Haryana. The student must keep in mind that the original DD should also be sent along with the application form. And, If the payment mode is online then a hard copy is not required.
