Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Kalady was established in the year 1994 and was accredited by NAAC with “A+” grade. SSUS Kalady was approved by UGC and offers courses at various levels. A total of 81 courses are offered to the students of this institute. Some of the streams across which SSUS Kalady courses are offered are Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Media, Mass Communication and Sciences,

A total of 86 courses are offered by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. These courses are offered across all the 4 levels including diploma, UG, PG and diploma. The courses at the university are offered for a duration of 1 to 6 years. SSUS Kalady offers 1 course at the diploma level, 12 courses at the UG level, 44 courses at the PG level and 24 courses at the doctoral level. Some of the courses offered at SSUS Kalady include diploma, B,A, B.F.A, M.A., M.Sc., M.P.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D, and others. Students seeking SSUS Kalady admission must apply for admission by filling the online application form. For SSUS Kalady diploma admissions, students will be shortlisted on the basis of the qualifying examination, followed by a physical fitness test and a round of personal interview. A total of 20 seats are available for this course. 

For the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Kalady B.A admissions, students are selected on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination along with some reservations for students who have studied Sanskrit upto 12th or SSLS level. Students will be selected on the basis of the entrance exam or aptitude test along with the mark in the qualifying exams for PG courses in SSUS Kalady. The university offer scholarships to the deserving students based on their merits, academic performance and some categories. The SSU Kaldy has a placement cell that provides various job opportunities to the students in the desired fields. The university has a wide range of facilities that are offered to university students. SSUS Kalady facilities include separate hostels for both boys and girls. These hostels have all the basic facilities required by the students.
