Course Overview

Developing Instructionally Embedded Performance Assessment Tools for the NGSS Classroom certification course is taught by a senior research associate and program director from Stanford University. This course is designed to guide participants step-by-step for a three-dimensional assessment approach. This course will also provide the opportunity for participants to engage in a peer-to-peer feedback process with another development team.

This course is designed for participants who have already taken the SNAP Course 1 for performance assessment in the NGSS classroom or for those who have comprehensive experience with NGSS appendices E, F, and G and with analyzing dimensions of a performance assessment.

With this course, participants would learn the procedures for defining performance, and outcomes, selecting phenomena, and developing tasks to meet a set of criteria for high-quality assessments. The course also features embedded questions throughout that are prompts for groups to discuss, while any team member can enter the response thereof for the whole group. There are two enrolment modes for learners to join the self-paced course either paying the fee or free of cost. The verified mode provides unlimited access to the course and a certificate and the free audit mode gives the limited duration of access.
