Course Overview

The Applied Entomology certification course enables learners to know the advantages and disadvantages of insects as applied to humankind. Students are exposed to in-depth information about insect orders that are economically important to humanity. The course is 100% online, and students are presented with PowerPoint presentations using vivid words, texts, and pictures to convey the concepts well.

Additionally, the Applied Entomology certification by Swayam also introduces students to metamorphosis in insects – the different ways in which highly beneficial insects like silkworms, honey bees, and lac insects can serve human needs. This course falls under the domain of Biological Sciences and Bio-engineering.

The Applied Entomology training, spread over 12 weeks, also lets students explore how predators and parasitoids are exploited to manage harmful insects and pollinators and improve crop yields. A detailed account of the management of such insects and the recommended practices will also be discussed.
