University of Science and Technology, Ri Bhoi Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University has currently two boys' hostels on campus with all the modern amenities. Accommodations for students are provided on a first-come-first-served basis. The hostel offers excellent lodging and boarding facilities to cater to the needs of both male and female students. Every hostel is supervised by a warden and a faculty-in-charge, who ensures that utmost care is taken to provide the best amenities to the students.

Each hostel room is furnished with beds, study tables, chairs, cupboards, and curtains.  All rooms are spacious and well-ventilated furnished with contemporary facilities and a pleasing ambiance. There is a separate staff for hostel maintenance working under the active supervision of the Warden. The maintenance staff takes care of cleanliness and any other grievances of the residents. Hostels are spruced up with all the essential amenities and provide a pollution-free environment. 24×7 electricity, internet connectivity through Wi-Fi, security, and state-of-the-art plumbing are some of the facilities available to all the residents. Extensive care is taken to maintain sterile conditions and cleanliness. There are lawns near the hostel campus for the students to play and enjoy some leisure time.

The University Health Centre at present operates under the supervision of a Medical officer, Dr. Jeetamoni Bordoloi (CMO). The medical staff consists of a Pharmacist and a Staff Nurse. The Health Centre offers general OPD services and initial care for emergency cases.  

The University has a Gym facility for the students.

The University Library has a collection of more than eighty thousand volumes of books on Applied Sciences, Biological Sciences, Business Sciences, Education, Engineering and Technology, Social Sciences, and Humanities, offering library services through its various sections. The Library has now been catering to the needs of more than 5000 students, research scholars, faculty members, and administrative and non-teaching staff of the university. With the developments in Information and Communication Technologies, the behavioral characteristics of library users have been changing rapidly and the library is trying its best to adapt to the technological advancement through the digitization of the library. The identity of all books and the library users are fully bar-coded and all Library housekeeping operations like acquisition, cataloging, circulation, and periodical services have been automated with the help of Koha.

The University has sports facilities for different sports like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, badminton, Cricket, Table Tennis, Baseball, Kho-Kho, etc.

The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The university has one huge Central Auditorium, one small Auditorium, and 3 mini Auditoriums cum conference halls on the campus to promote the conduct of international, national, and other University events such as conferences, workshops, seminars, meetings, placement programs, and cultural events. All auditoriums are well-furnished, air-conditioned, and equipped with modern projection and audio systems with access to the internet. The auditoriums feature fixed traditional theatre-style seating, raised stages, adjustable lighting, a sound system, and a large screen for video and computer presentations.

The University has a Transport facility for the students.

The University has good networking for the Alumni association.

The University has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The University Guest House has a total of nine (9) well-furnished rooms {Eight (8) double rooms with a common Bath   & one (1) quadruple bedded room with an attached bath}. It has safe and clean surroundings and is managed by helpful staff who attend to our guests at all hours.

The University has Separate State of art laboratories and teaching facilities has been established for the department of Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Zoology, Botany, Earth Science, and computer sciences.

The University has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The University ATM facility is available within the campus for easy and hassle-free access to money for students.

The University Classrooms/lecture halls are crucial elements of learning environments in any university/HEI. There is strong evidence that good infrastructure facilitates helps better instruction and improves student performance among a host of other benefits. 

 The University has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.
