Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV) was established in 2000 and is a state agricultural university situated in Pundibari of West Bengal. Accredited by UGC and affiliated with AICTE, UBKV provides its student with a diverse scope of programmes related to agricultural sciences. The university occupies a 331 acre campus and is home to a total of 667 students and 115 faculty members. It presents 34 courses in 4 degrees’ levels in focus areas including Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agricultural Engineering. At UBKV, the sex ratio is 73: 27- males to female students respectively, 99% of students are from within the state.

Modern amenities have been made available by UBKV Pundibari to support the ever growing student centric facilities. On the campus, there are well furnished hostels for boys and girls having the facilities like common room, P.G. accommodation, modular kitchen, and safe drinking water. Students’ health care is provided by an intricate health centre. The university library and unit libraries are well stocked to provide e-journals, textbooks, and databases for its users. The sporting facilities provide for exercise needs, but the colleges have IT requirements to provide computers and Internet access to students, no matter the department. Facilities for practice include well-equipped laboratory to improve both learning and research. This includes an auditorium, gymnasium, a canteen, guest house accommodation and Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) all over the compound.

It has a wide list of course offering at different levels. For the undergraduate studies UBKV offers the B.Sc degree in Agriculture and Horticulture and the B.Tech degree in Agricultural Engineering. Among the postgraduate programmes, there are countless M.Sc courses in various areas of operations including Agricultural Economics, Entomology, Extension, and Plant Pathology. For research enthusiasts, the university has Doctoral programmes in various fields of agriculture. In all, UBKV has an admitted capacity of five hundred and ninety three students for all the offered courses where the B.Sc Agriculture has the highest provision for sixty six students.

The admission procedure of UBKV Pundibari significantly differs in different programmes. For the admission in undergraduate course offered by this university such as B.Sc Agriculture and Horticulture, the University offers admissions through merit only. WBJEE is mandatory for candidates willing to pursue B.Tech Agricultural Engineering programme in the University.
