Alpha College of Engineering, Chennai: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Alpha College of Engineering is affiliated college situated in Thirumazhisai, Poonamallee, Chennai was started in the year of 2006. It is an AICTE approved institute located over an area of 60 acres of land. Alpha College of Engineering has a broad spectrum of courses in terms of the number and the level of the programs it delivers with 11 courses for total of 318 students’ enrolment spread over 3 degrees of study. This college is well equipped with 83 members in its faculty to accommodate students in good student-teacher ratio.

The college has pledged to ensure every student gets access to conducive environment with modern learning amenities. The campus also has well-equipped laboratories for each department so as to enable the student’s practical field study. The central library is alarge library consisting more than 14,751 text and reference books and 66 national magazines and 150 international online journals. Alpha College of Engineering believing in the overall personality development provides best sports facilities comprising of 200 meters athletic track, football ground, cricket ground, Volleyball, Basketball courts and indoor games facilities. The college also focuses on students’ comfort while offering different hostels for boys and girls with comfortable conditions being created.

Alpha College of Engineering has in total 11 courses where 6 are undergraduate ones and 2 are postgraduate ones. The B.Tech programs offered here are spread across different streams of engineering; the post graduate courses include M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and MBA. All course offered are full time and regular mode of courses imparting the commerce and skill value to the students to face the industry requirements. The total approved intake for all courses combined stands at 432, while the MBA Programme constituted the biggest intake of 120.

The current system of admission to Alpha College of Engineering is via the TNEA counselling held by Anna University, Chennai. For B.Tech programs the merit in TNEA is considered as criteria for admissions and it only takes into account the marks scored in the qualifying examination. The MBA program accepts score received to entrance test like TANCET conducted by the Anna University and the consortium of self financing professional, Arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu.
