Campus offers modern infrastructure with up-to-date amenities and well-maintained buildings. The library is a standout, providing ample study spaces and extensive resources, though finding an available computer can be challenging. Classrooms are technologically advanced, but occasional technical issues may arise. Dining facilities offer a variety of food options, though quality can vary.
This college features a diverse set of academic programs with a focus on both theoretical understanding and practical skills. Faculty members are generally knowledgeable and provide valuable instruction. Some students have reported that certain courses lack depth or practical relevance. The curriculum is rigorous, and the workload can be intense, requiring strong time management.
The placement process at this institution is thorough and well-structured, with a variety of companies recruiting from the campus. The career services office provides valuable support, including job search strategies and interview preparation. While the majority of students secure positions, there are occasional concerns about the adequacy of support for roles in specialized sectors.
The infrastructure in my college for Biotechnology was exceptional, offering a wide range of facilities for students. The college boasts well-equipped labs with a variety of instruments, spacious air-conditioned classrooms, and comfortable furnished rooms in the hostel facility and food.
In our college the professors were extremely supportive, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. They provided high-quality education to the students, ensuring that the course curriculum was relevant and up-to-date. Each student received individual attention from the professors in a good way.
In our college for biotechnology, there were around 50% placements at our college. The top recruiters for our course was Genetic, Serum, biocon, etc. The top roles offered for our course was lab technician, research associate, etc. college provides training for students to get ready for placement drives.
The biotechnology labs are well-equipped, the engineering lab could be better but now they have new instruments so that's good. The main university has an amazing sports arena and the stadium. The school of biotech doesn't have much for infrastructure other than the labs.
The new curriculum for bioinformatics is good, and the faculty members teach well, at least most of them do. Some teachers are not so good. Practical learning could have been better but overall, the course covers every major part of Amrita school of biotechnology .
Placements were decent. Some people got placed while the others are still giving interviews. The pay package isn't that great, and research opportunities are fewer. Sales and marketing jobs are abundant, although a small percentage did get research jobs. But after master's, people usually move abroad to study further.

For bioinformatics, there were around 50% placements at our college. The average package offered for our course was around 5-8 LPA. The top recruiters for our course was Genetic, Serum, biocon, etc. The top roles offered for our course was lab technician, research associate, etc.
Amrita has an amazing infrastructure. It has specific labs for each subject, such as neuroscience, molecular biology, Biotechnology, industrial Biotechnology, and biochemistry. The lab contains good facilities with all the equipment needed for a Science lab, such as PCR, a genetic analyzer, SDS-PAGE, and AGE electrophoresis apparatus. It provides a Wi-Fi network for the use of students and faculty. The library has a wide range of books, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Amrita has qualified teachers with doctorates and postdocs. They are friendly and well qualified, with a helping mentality. It has a relevant syllabus that makes students efficient for their further studies and future jobs. The semester exams are easy, and the pass percentage is always above 90%.
About 80 percent of students got placement. The M.Sc. Bioinformatics course has four semesters. Each semester, the fee is INR 7000. The companies that offer placement are Serum Institute, Genetic, and Biocon. They got jobs under the vacancies of project associate and lab technician. Amrita has a good placement office that works effectively for the placement of students.
The air-conditioned classroom is equipped with computer systems and Wi-Fi. They are using the latest technologies for students. The college has separate hostels for girls and boys. The ambience is good but the food is not up to the mark. It also has good canteen, medical facilities, etc.
The teachers are well trained and qualified to teach and make sure that they are providing the best quality education. As compared to other bioinformatics course structures our campus has the best one. The semester exams are mainly application based exams and the pass percentage is good.
60 percentage of students were placed last year (2023). The average pack is 25,000 offered in companies. The top recruiting companies include elli-lilly, thermofisher, Hindustan unilever, Merck etc. 100% of the students god internship in companies as compared to biotechnology and microbiology.
The college was nice and the management is great and big. The lab and classroom environments are also good. However, the quality of the hostel is not up to par. Hostel students frequently complain about the food and room service. The college has a Wi-Fi campus, but students don't know the Wi-Fi password.
Teachers are very much helpful but some faculty members could use some improvement in creating a positive classroom environment and teaching effectively. Some of the teachers are former students from previous years. However, there is room for improvement as the
Overall many students placed in there dream companies. Many seniors have secured paid internships at good companies. Out of 60 MBA students, around 50 to 53 have gotten paid internships, showing the strong opportunities available. This shows that our staff prepares students well by being supportive and guiding them.
The college is having best value for money.
Campus Life is amazing.
Nothing else.
It was good experience studying here in terms of facilities. We had good computers and lab equipment with paid access to software tools. The library and computer lab were kept open late into evening always. I stayed in the new hostel complex which was very spacious and food provided in the mess was just about ok.
I was doing my masters in bioinformatics which was a relatively new course at the time. We had on site faculties and some who connected from abroad for live sessions online as well. Teaching quality was good. The syllabus was very job oriented.
Bioinformatics department had some placements from Information technology companies. The packages offered to us ranged from around 3.5 - 4.8 LPA at the time. It was quite a good experience to attend the interviews and the management was supportive.
The fees was not very high when I started studying there since my course was still relatively newly introduced. We were one of the earliest batches. The cost was high compared to my previous college but I feel it was worth it since the quality of teaching was really good.
The campus is located close to the beach side so it is very calm and quiet. The locals are quite friendly and I feel it was safe. We had two international conferences held there and some tech fests. We got chance to interact with some famous scientists during this time.
I feel it was good choice for me.
The hostels are kind of average and the food is pure vegetarian. The campus has good infrastructure overall but the student internet has a lot of restrictions which can get annoying after a while. The place is well maintained.
The teachers are extremely learned and do teach very well. The syllabus is very deep and covers a lot of topics not usually seen in UG in other colleges. They put a lot of emphasis on software skills too which is a bonus.
There was a severe lack of placement options for both UG and PG students. I think this is the biggest letdown of studying there and it is really disappointing because their academics is actually really good.
I think that the lackluster campus life and there being no placement programs for the students makes it feel very not so value for money. The course is quite expensive compared to other South Indian colleges but the academics is really good here.
Too many unnecessary restrictions are put on students, particularly the female students. The staff can be quite rude at times and it can feel very frustrating to deal with them. The campus itself is very calm and quiet. There are some cultural events and conferences held from there time to time.
Campus had internet connectivity in most places. Labs were well equipped with all required instruments for experiments. The library was a nice place to study in peace. The place was maintained quite well.
I was doing my masters in biotechnology. The professors were quite fine and approachable for the most part. They always helped out with doubts readily. Curriculum was quite tough but covered a lot of topics. I did not find it particularly interesting.
This was my biggest issue with this college. They provided absolutely no placement assistance and it was very disappointing because of how much they advertise online about their record. I found myself without a job for several months post completion of the course.
It was extremely expensive when factoring in the college and hostel expenses. I don't find it worth it at all considering how there was no placement assistance, the unreasonable restrictions imposed on girls and the not so nice food in hostels.
I did not enjoy the campus experience at all. The wardens in hostels were far too intrusive and there was really no privacy. The food was definitely not good and the location was quite remote. The only nice thing was that the campus was calm and quiet.
Regret going there.
