The AP Government Institute of Leather Technology, Hyderabad is an specialized college where students are trained only in the field of leather technology which was set up in 1980. An affiliated college functioning in the heart of city Hyderabad, it has been molding the professionals for the footwear industry for the past four decades. The institute is approved by AICTE, Government of India and it being specializing on technical education on a small area of 5 acres. The institute has a target enrolment of 111 students and faculties of 11 which makes students to be in close touch with their faculty and have practical sessions for their learning in leather technology.

The learners at the AP Government Institute of Leather Technology receive the following amenities that help to improve their learning processes. The college has a well stocked library to ensure that the student gets all the necessary informations that he or she as a student requires in leather technology and other courses. Physical Department laboratories are essential practical sessions to enable the students to practice on real situations pertaining to the theories learnt. Both the programmes have been accorded sanctioned admissions of 60 each or 120 in all for those who wish to be leather technologists. Pursuant the above objectives, the curriculum offers practical knowledge and skills in leather processing, technological advancement in shoe making and other dwelling technologies relative to the industry to enable trained and competent human resource in the realization of the above goals of the institution.
