Availability of Seats

AIT offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2018 (120 seats in Computer Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering,). Only wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AIT.

Eligibility Criteria

Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army. Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus being made available in February 2018.

The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2018:-

Qualification-Class XII or equivalent (appeared or passed) with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject. Candidates should obtain at least 50% in the above combination subjects.

Should appear for JEE (Main) 2018 examination and have acquired appropriate/required ranking as per All India Ranking List published by CBSE for admission to Engineering Colleges. (Last years last admitted students All India Ranking was 1,06,970)..

Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission

Entrance Examination

AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE (Main) 2018). All applicants are therefore required to appear in JEE Main 2018 and also apply to AIT for Admission. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.

JEE (Main) Application Form

Candidates should apply for JEE Main 2018 Online in the month of December 2017. (Last date is 01 Jan 2018). Application form and the Information Bulletin are available on JEE(Main) website www.jeemain@nic.in. AIT does not deal with distribution of JEE Main forms and queries if any.

JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in the month of April 2018.

The applicants should then fill AIT online application on website www.aitpune.com wef 15 Mar 2018 after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number (Exam seat Number). Cost of Online application is Rs 500/-, inclusive of processing charges

Last date for submission of completed Application Form is 25 Apr 2018.

Admission at AIT, Pune, will tentatively take place within two weeks after the date of declaration of CBSE All India Rank. Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT website www.aitpune.com in the month of Jun 2018.

Eligibility for Admission to AIT.
Admission to Army Institute of Technology is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army.The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form :-



(a)The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-



(i)Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army
(Submit Certificate No 1).



(ii)Children ofexArmypersonnelgranted/ awardedregularpension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalid medical board.This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension(Submit Certificate No 1).



(iii)Children of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service(Submit Certificate No 1).



(b)Adopted /Step children and children of Remarried Widows.



(i)Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission(Submit Certificate No 2).



(ii)Step Children are eligible provided they areborn froma wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible(Submit Certificate No 2).





(c)Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases.



(i)Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/ArmyDental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force(IN/IAF).Wards of only those ex Army medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for atleast 10 years(Submit Certificate No 3).



(ii)Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS/ MNS/TA Personnel(Submit Certificate No 3).



(aa)Children of APS personnel classifiedasex- servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated19 Jul 89.



(ab)Children of those APSpersonnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.



(ac)Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have competed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.



(ad)Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.

(ae)Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

For Army institute of technology, first you should be ward of Army man who served for 10 years of service in army. Then you have to obtain at least 50% on aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry in your 12th board exam. Then you have to sit for JEE MAINS, and should get rank under 1,00,000 then only you will be eligible to get admission in this reputed institute.
