Barpeta B.T. College, 1985, is a college located in Barpeta, Assam. This co-ed NCTE-approved college provides undergraduate and teacher education courses. It runs under the compact campus area of 0.19 acres with 261 students and 21 faculties. Barpeta B.T. College offers six courses across four degree programmes in streams of Arts and Education. With a strong commitment towards the mission of spreading teacher education, it offers both B.Ed and D.El.Ed. alongside conventional BA programmes. 

Barpeta B.T. College has quite a number of facilities for the students for learning and development purposes. A properly stacked library holding 6,719 books, including 1,157 reference books, and subscription to nine educational journals help the students immensely. The reading room can accommodate 40 trainees at a time. The ICT infrastructure of the college includes one well-equipped computer laboratory, computers, printers, internet facilities, and a projector with other learning resources. The campus has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a playground for volleyball, kabaddi, and athletics. A multipurpose hall is also available with a capacity of 200 persons for several social functions, seminars, and workshops. Other key facilities provided by the college include a health centre that provides first-aid facilities, a canteen, a gym, and smart classrooms with ICT-enabled features to enhance the learning experience.

The focus of this college is to offer undergraduate education in arts and teacher-training courses. This college fulfills the aspirations of learners in the fields of humanities and education. 

The admission procedure is different based on the programme at Barpeta B.T. College. In the case of B.Ed. course, admission is made on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by Gauhati University, usually in June or July of every year. As regards D.El.Ed., the admission policy would be as prescribed by the state government or UT administration, duly approved and followed by the admission committee; that is, it may involve merit-based selection based on qualifying examination marks and/or entrance exam.
