Barunei Institute of Engineering and Technology, Khurda: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Barunei Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) was set up in 2009 and is situated at Khurda Odisha. This affiliated college recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education offers diploma in different branch of engineering. Located on 150 acres of land, BIET’s total student enrollment is 151 and faculty, 31. Five diploma courses are offer by the institute but all of them come under a single degree programme. As a technical institution, the primary goal of BIET is to produce competent professional who can work effectively in the engineering and technological fields.

Students are provided with learning and development facilities within the campus and other auxiliary facilities are also available. Barunei Institute of Engineering and Technology is well supported by a reference section which caters 500 students, a digital library and there are different sections available for journal, research scholars and audio visual aid. We have a fully computerised laboratory in BIET for which is equipped with high internet facility and software. The classrooms are further set to give a conducive learning environment that includes; air condition, free wireless LCD projector among others. For student accommodation within the college, the college has separated hostels for boys and girls within the compound featuring well furbished rooms with toilets inside the room and all rooms are internet ready. The institute also has boarding faculties for day scholars and has a bus facility to transport them.

BIET provides five full time diploma courses in engineering streams in which vary in their lengths, where all of them can be completed in three years. The courses offered are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Mechanical engineering. 

BIET has its admission process by offering admission to various courses, Diploma Entrance Test (DET) conducted by the state government. The counselling for admission is done accordingly to the rank obtained in the DET and the statutory reservation policy of the State Govt of Odisha concerning admission shall be followed. This makes it possible for all applicant to find a fair chance in admission without favouritism. All diploma programmes offered at the institute follows the same admission process.
