Berhampore Girls College, Murshidabad, was established way back in 1946, since when it has devotedly served the cause of girl students in West Bengal. This affiliated college is located in Berhampore with a 10-acre sprawling campus. The college has its accreditation with NAAC, which stands for an earnest commitment to good quality education. With a wide range of 27 courses under five degree programs, Berhampore Girls College has an enrolment of 2,523 students, all of whom are female—91% undergraduates and 9% postgraduates—in addition to 53 faculty members dedicated to the growth and development of the students in their care.

It provides all facilities that a college can have for improving and developing students in academics and personal grooming. The library is another place that acts as a collective resource for learning and research. Established in 1946, it still forms the very foundation of the college. The college provides hostel facilities for student accommodation with a total of about 350 seats: the New Hostel within the college premises and another hostel, called the Old Hostel, is situated at a distance of 200 meters from the college. Additionally, a separate PG Hostel is available with 30 seats. 

Berhampore Girls College empanels an array of about 27 full-time courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

Admission at Berhampore Girls College is open and generally merit-based. Admission in college streams is usually done on the basis of the most recent qualifying examination.
