Affiliated college in Chhattisgarh state of India, Bhilai College of Information Technology, Bhilai was started in 2002. Located in Chhattisgarh, Bhilai being the hub of this demanding profession, this institution offers teacher education. The college located in a small area covering an area of 0.262 acres is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), thus imparting the quality education in teaching field. Managed by the Ministry of Education, the College has 258 students enrolled at the moment, and 20 members of the teaching staff. The college provides two full-time degree programs: Bachelors in Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) cuts with the basic stating of teacher education at different levels. 

This college was presented with numerous facilities that are intended to supplement the education of their learners. Sport lovers should take advantage of the college sports equipment to foster physical development besides the academic achievement. For the academic and cultural performances the college has an auditorium where performances are held and students and guest lectures attended respectively. The library plays an important role because it provides students with the material they may need for their tasks. Students, who want to become teachers, can develop practical character in the departmental laboratories that are very important for practical approaches in education. Also, for the purpose of health the college has its own medical with first aid services for the students making the entire college environment safe for everyone. The Program of Study in BCIT is very geared towards the preparation of qualified educators in view of increasing demand. 

The college currently offers two full-time courses: Two year Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) programme having hundred students intake and Two year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme for fifty students intake. These courses and degrees are intended to prepare students for what they need to know in the sphere of education. This comprises of 75 students in each of the two programs and this is due to the fact that the college always ensure that the number of students that is admitted does not overcrowd the classroom to avoid compromise on the quality of education the college wants to provide. 

Admission of the candidates in Bhilai College of Information Technology is done on the basis of their performance in the qualifying exam and/or the entrance test. The college operates under certain admission regulations as provided by the state government, Union Territory administration and affiliated university.
