Buchanan Institutions Teachers Training Institute, Pallom Admission Process
BI Teacher Training Institute, Pallom, or Buchanan Institutions Teachers Training Institute, is a well-renowned institution aiming to produce future generations of teachers as a single-gender institution, it is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is located in the Kottayam district of Kerala. The admission process of BI Teacher Training Institute is set to recognize the most suitable and passionate candidates for their teacher education program. According to the Kerala government, the admission system followed by the institute is merit-based. It selects candidates based upon their performance in entrance tests or qualifying examinations, or any other mode specified by the state government for selection of candidates in accordance with its excellence standards in elementary school teachers' production.
BI Teacher Training Institute has an admissions time usually consistent with the school year, such that the school calendar falls between the end of July through August/ September. Though different at times, in principle, potential candidates should expect preparing applications around July and August leading up to an academic calendar. The first criteria for eligibility that must be satisfied to apply to BI Teacher Training Institute D.El.Ed program are clearing the 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Since it only takes women students, this becomes the one additional eligibility condition for all applicants.

Degree wise Admission Process
D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): BI Teacher Training Institute offers a two-year full-time D.El.Ed course. This is the only course available so far in this institute, giving an insight into the focused approach of training on teacher education. The program is focused to prepare students to be professionally able elementary school teachers. Admission into the D.El.Ed course follows the merit basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per the policy of Kerala government. The approved intake for this course is 50 students.
