Birsa College, Khunti, is a famous constituent college of Jharkhand. The college offers an enormous range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various streams, including Arts, Science, Commerce, and Professional courses. Birsa College has a merit system admission process for most of its courses so that deserving students are given an opportunity to pursue their desired courses.

For UG courses, the general requirement is 10+2 pass from a known board. The particular subject requirement may change according to the chosen course. For instance, applicants for B.Sc courses need to have studied science subjects pertinent to that course during 10+2.

Application Process

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Com: Admission for B.Com at Birsa College is done based on merit. Candidates with passed 10+2 in the subjects of Commerce and equivalent are eligible. On the basis of performance in entrance exam, college shortlists candidates.

B.Sc Courses (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology): Merit-based admissions for all B.Sc courses. The candidates must have 10+2 in science subjects. There may be some subject prerequisites for each course, i.e., Mathematics for B.Sc Mathematics Hons or Biology for B.Sc Botany/Zoology Hons.

BA Courses (Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science, History, Urdu, Psychology, Geography, Sanskrit, Philosophy): Merit basis admission in all BA courses. Any student with 10+2 in any stream may apply, but choosing relevant subjects during 10+2 would be helpful for certain courses.

BBA and BCA: These professional programs tend to have a merit-based admission procedure considering the marks of the candidate in 10+2 marks and maybe an entrance exam or interview.

Postgraduate Courses (MA, M.Com, M.Sc): Postgraduate courses like MA in Hindi, History, Political Science, Mundari, Geography, and Economics and M.Com and M.Sc in Mathematics are organized by the college. Admission in these courses will likely be on the basis of the candidate's performance during their bachelor's degree.
