About BCM Kottayam
BCM Kottayam is a women’s college in Kottayam, Kerala, India which was founded in 1955. This affiliated college is situated at Kottayam, Kerala and extends over 6.35 acres: the college has received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). As of now total enrolment of BCM Kottayam is 1892 students and total number of faculty members are 88. Nos offering 15 courses in 7 degrees. The college student population is nearly equally split; 87% undergraduate and 13% postgraduate. Pertinent to this, a higher proportion of the students are from within the state with only 10% hailing from other states in India and abroad, a factor that has helped the course to gain popularity and renown as it is.
Facilities that are offered by BCM Kottayam for improvement of the student’s experience are as follows. The college features a well-equipped library housing over 46,000 books, 42 periodicals, and 29 journals, open from 9 am to 5:except Sunday and public holidays at 30 pm of every day of the week. KOHA with e-cataloging system makes it easy to locate books. There is also a girls’ hostel of reasonable rents available to ensure female students enjoy comfortable accommodation. It also benefited from recent facilities such as Computer and Language Lab remodeled of 45 computers to train students in verbal communication in English. Two computer centres serve the emerging trend of information technology integration into all programmes.
The college provides a wide range of programmes, which include both under graduate and post graduate programmes of the 15 programmes, the university offers full-time study in arts, commerce and sciences streams. Some of the most sought after undergraduate courses offered are BA English Literature, B.Com Computer Application and B.Sc in amid various specialisations. At post graduate level, this college provides M.Sc Statistics Course, MA English Language and Literature, MSW and M.Com specialisation Courses. The importance of quality education is well capped in the course of each college, which includes both humanities and the current vogue courses.
Only a small fraction of the students get admission through the management quota for both under graduation and post graduation in BCM Kottayam, major admissions are through the Centralised Allotment Process from the Mahatma Gandhi University. This makes it possible for every candidate who applies for merit seats to be given an equal chance at exercising their part in the voting process. The Bishop Chulaparambil Memorial College (BCM), Kottayam, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, is a women's college with high status. It offers a variety of undergraduate programs in the field of arts, commerce, and sciences. The selection of myriads of scholar students, in a fair and transparent selection procedure, happens through the admission process. For BCM Kottayam, the admission cycle generally opens at the beginning of May-June for the period starting from August-September while it keeps following CAP for the admission process of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University.
It guarantees the aspirations of all applicants seeking merit seats. As for the undergraduate courses-a pass in 10+2 from a recognized university is usually acceptable. There exist certain criteria set for individual courses applying. To pursue postgraduate (PG) studies, one should have a degree in the relevant field at an acceptable level from a recognized institution. 8. If selected, visit BCM Kottayam for document verification within the prescribed time limit and complete admission formalities.
9. Upon completion of the admission process, the payment of required fees has to be made.
Degree wise Admission Process
BA programs: The various BA programs of BCM Kottayam include BA English Literature Model III (Self-Finance). Admission to merit seats for the BA courses is done through CAP conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University. Candidates have to apply through CAP portal and meet the eligibility set by the university.
B.Com Programs: The College offers B.Com programs such as B.Com Computer Application (Self-Finance) and B. Com Finance and Taxation. Admissions to B.Com courses are the same as in the case of BA programs, which follow the CAP system. Applicants will have to take part in the central allotment system for seat allotment.
B.Sc Programs: Different programs of B.Sc like B.Sc Computer Science (Self-Finance) and B.Sc Food Science and Quality Control (Self-Finance) are there at BCM Kottayam. Admissions for B.Sc programs take place according to the CAP system set in place at Mahatma Gandhi University. Candidates need to apply online through the university portal.
MA Programs: There are Master of Arts in English Language and Literature (Self-Finance) and M.A. English Literature. The college allows admission via CAP and direct submission of the application forms. Applicants have to apply directly to the college.
M.Sc Programs: The college has M.Sc courses for Statistics, Mathematics, Child Development, Behavioral Science (Self-Finance). Applicants for these M.Sc courses must apply to the CAP system and also apply directly to BCM.
M.Com Programs: The college offers M.Com programs in Finance and Taxation (Self-Finance) and Marketing and International Business (Self-Finance). Applicants go through the same CAP process of application submission in addition to the direct application to the college.
MSW Program: The Master of Social Work (Self-Finance) program requires applicants to apply through CAP and submit a separate application to the college.

The college provides a very wonderful infrastructure with a well facilitated library ,a large and spacious auditorium ,a cafatirea and a student aminite center that provides almost all the essential things within the college itself the space is maintained clean and green and classrooms are also good

The admission procedure for B.Ed in B.C.M college of Education has not been started yet.
Admission to the B.Ed, is made strictly according to rules/guidelines framed by Panjab University/ Punjab Government. There are a total of 150 seats for B.Ed Course 1st Year of Panjab University in this College. Out of the total 19 seats will be filled under Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt./ Panjab University norms.
