Admission Shall be Made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university.

BR College of Education, Kurukshetra Admission Process

BR College of Education, Kurukshetra as a co-educational institution which nurtures the future educators, is an affiliated educational institution with a large university in the syllabus and maintains quality education. Approved by National Council for Teacher Education, BR College of Education incorporates a wholesome admission process for selecting deserving candidates for teacher training courses. The admission process at BR College of Education comprises both equity and comprehensiveness. The college offers the following two major courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). 

Academic merit is used as a criterion for admission into BR College of Education. This includes marks in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination according to the policies made out by the State Government, the U.T. Administration, and the affiliated University. The admission policies and procedures will be in line with these governing bodies and might be updated continuously.

Application Process

For B.Ed Program:

  1. Check eligibility: Meet the academic qualifications laid down by the College and the affiliated university.
  2. Get the form for taking the application: Typically, the forms should be available on the website of the college or collected from the college office.
  3. Complete the application form: Fill the application form and submit it with personal as well as academic details.
  4. Annex necessary documents: This may include mark sheets of qualifying examinations, entrance exam scores (if applicable), and other certificates as specified.
  5. Submit the application: Whether online through the college portal, or manually at the college office, it should be done before the due date.
  6. Grant of merit list: On the basis of marks in qualifying examinations and/or entrance examinations, the college will prepare the merit list.
  7. Counselling and admission: A few selected candidates can be called up for counselling, where there will be a distribution of seats according to merit and availability.

For D.El.Ed Program:

  1. Eligibility check: Completion of 10+2 from a recognized board is mandatory
  2. Obtain and fill the form: Similar to that of B.Ed, it is available both online as well as in the college office.
  3. Submit 10+2 marksheets: Because the merit list will be derived on the basis of 10+2, make sure authenticated copies of your marksheets are submitted.
  4. Stream-wise application: Make sure to mention your stream (Arts, Science, Commerce, or Vocational) on the application.
  5. Submit the application: Make sure all required documents are attached before submitting it within the deadline.
  6. Merit list: Allow the college to prepare and publish the merit list based on the percentages of 10+2.
  7. Completion of admission formalities pointed out by the college if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): There exists 200 sanctioned seats for the course B.Ed at BR College of Education. The admission is based on merit with respect to the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and/or entrance exam. The current policies of the State Government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated University may decide the specific weightage. To be eligible for the B.Ed program, candidates must have obtained their graduation or post-graduation degree in the same subject area.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed scheme at BR College of Education has a totally distinct procedure of admission. The merit list for the D.El.Ed program is framed on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2 examination and is further considered for selection through marks based on each stream: Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational. The college has an enrolment of 50 seats in the D.El.Ed course. The total fees for the D.El.Ed course are Rs 51,600.

The required documents for both programs consists generally of:

  • Completed application form.
  • Passport size photographs.
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, Graduation as applicable).
  • Category certificates (if applying under any reserved category).
  • Entrance exam score card (for B.Ed, if applicable).
  • Any other certificates or documents as specified by the college.
